Manuel G Bara, 80, of San Angelo, passed away on January 31, 2018. A Rosary will be read at 7:00 pm on Monday, February 5, 2018. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church with interment following in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Gutierrez Funeral Chapels/North.

Manuel G. Bara passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018 at the age of 80. Manuel was born on Nov. 10, 1937 to Fernando and Melessia Bara in San Angelo, Texas. On Aug. 26 1959, he married his loving wife Emma Lee and spent 37 years together until her passing. Together they had two children, Debby and Manuel Mario. He later met and married his wonderful wife of 15 years, Liudmila Vinogradova.

Manuel, a heart transplant survivor, enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for several years. He was also a salesman for Gunter's Wholesale, and then went on and found his true passion in life as an electrician. Manuel worked and retired from Three Rivers Electric after 33 years of service, but also did contract work for many well-known businesses in and around San Angelo. He loved going gambling, especially on the craps tables in Laughlin, Las Vegas, and Shreveport.

He was preceded in death by his wife Emma Lee; parents, Fernando and Melessia; and siblings Ruben Bara and Anita Fernandez.

He is survived by his wife Liudmila; daughter Debby Haechten & husband JD; son Manuel Mario Bara Jr; step-son Richard Kviklis; and brother Pete Bara & wife Connie. He was "Popo" to his five grandkids, Claudia Alvarado & husband Jesse, Monica Arocha, Fernando Bara, Mario J. Bara & Emily Bara. He also leaves behind five great-grandkids along with nieces and nephews. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle.

Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, in the Gutierrez Funeral Chapel (1002 N Oakes St). Funeral will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will immediately follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Ybarra Jr., Fernando Bara, Barney Mendez Jr., Roy Abalos, Mario J. Bara, and Pete Bara Jr.

Manuel was a kind-hearted and well respected man. He was dearly loved and will be missed by family members and friends.
