Mary Faye Minnick was born 2 Mar 1933 in Okemah, Oklahoma to Gid Hick Minnick and Comilla Leeann Finney-Minnick. She grew up and attended school in Pierce, Oklahoma where she played basketball. Her family moved to Checotah in 1950 where she met the love of her life, her husband, Clifton Charles Smallwood, Jr., they were married 31 Aug 1952 at Checotah, Oklahoma and they moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to start their life together. Faye made being a mother and wife her priority. She went to work for Dodson's Cafeteria at SW 59th and Pennsylvania in OKC. after her youngest child enrolled in school. She was a big fan of Thunder basketball and loved to embroidery until the last few years when her health started to decline.

Faye was preceded in death by her daughter, Glenda Jean Smallwood-Kelly. Grandson, Shawn Richard Strickland, both her parents, twin sister, Martha May Minnick, three brothers, Paul Gene Minnick, Alvie Henry Minnick, and Orvel Dalzo "Dale" Minnick.

Faye is survived by her husband, Charles, of 65 years. Daughter, Sharon Dian Smallwood-Slabaugh and husband Jerry of Dibble, Oklahoma. Son, Rodney Charles Smallwood and wife, Rhonda of Mustang, Oklahoma. Four grandsons: Chadwin Lowell & Eric Kelly of OKC, Tyler Slabaugh of Dibble, Bryce Smallwood of Mustang. Four great-grandchildren, sister, Evelyn, brothers Junior and Lon.

Faye passed at Baptist Hospital, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at the age of 84. Services will be Saturday, February 10th at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Resthaven.
