Vivian D. Rose, age 86 of Elwood, died unexpectedly January 14, 2010 at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood.
She was born June 6, 1923 in Hamilton County, Indiana.
She retired in 1987 from owning and operating her own dress shop – Brigette Fashion Shop in Elwood – for 10 years. She also formerly worked at R.L. Leeson’s Women’s Dress Shop in Elwood for 30 years.
She was a 1941 graduate of Walnut Grove High School, and married Vern L. Rose on April 12, 1941.
She was a longtime member of the East Main Street Christian Church in Elwood and a member of the Elwood Order of Eastern Star for 63 years.
Survivors include: Husband of 68 years – Vern L. Rose of Elwood; Daughter – Sandra and husband Greg Ball of Elwood; Sister – Harriett Crocker of Florida; 2 Grandchildren – Justal W. and wife Terina Ball of Elwood and Dawn and husband Michael Buck of New Albany, OH; and 5 Great-Grandchildren – Joshua Ball of Elwood, Sarah and husband Bryan Jarvis of Fishers, Jake Ball of Elwood, Logan Arehart of New Albany, OH, and Zoie Buck of New Albany, OH.
She was preceded in death by: Parents; 5 Brothers; and 2 Sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, January 18, 2010 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Mr. Rich Leavell officiating. Burial will take place in the Elwood City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 PM Sunday, January 17, 2010 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.
