She was born April 13, 1933, in Stanley, North Dakota, to Adolph and Helen (Molzhon) Piepkorn. She grew up there and graduated from the Stanley High School. On September 6, 1953 she and Adrian Tromsness were married there. They observed 64 years of marriage last September.
After their marriage they lived in Roy, Utah eight years before moving to Galesburg in 1968.
Jackie was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Erie. She especially enjoyed gardening and quilting and trips to Table Rock Lake.
Surviving are her husband, Adrian “Whitey” Tromsness, of the home, a daughter, Kathy McGowen (David), of St. Paul, three sons, Dwight, Andy (Debbie) and Bob, all of Galesburg. There are 10 grandchildren and 17 grandchildren. Other survivors are two sisters, Betty Hersel and Connie Coulter, both of Emmett, Idaho. She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Debbie Tromsness and a brother, LaVern Piepkorn.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Erie, with Pastor Jay Hobson officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery at Galesburg.
The casket will remain closed, but friends are welcome to sign the register at the Pierce-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Erie Friday until 8 p.m. and Saturday morning.
