Martha Louise Buchanan was born August 12, 1929, to Willie and Ola Caldwell in Rosedale, Arkansas. She went to be with the Lord on January 31, 2018. She was married to Billy Lee Buchanan for 58 years.
Martha was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She unselfishly encouraged and met the needs of, not only her family and friends, but of any she met along the way. She believed "that's what this life is all about". She loved her family as she loved the Lord - with all her heart. She faithfully taught ladies' Sunday School for more than 40 years.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Billy and her son Gary. She is survived by four children: Janice Maynard (Michael); Donna Hughes (Eric); Tim Buchanan; and Mike Buchanan. She has nine grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren who adore their Mamaw. Martha leaves two sisters and two brothers: Billy Caldwell (Doris); Jo Gross (Frank); Pat Hyatt (Melvin); and Danny Caldwell (Barbara). She is "Aunt Martha" to 7 nephews and 2 nieces.
