Barbara Lynn Deaton, age 76, of Kanawha City passed away Tuesday January 30, 2018 at Hubbard Hospice House West, South Charleston, WV after an extended illness.

Barbara was born February 18, 1941 in Charleston, daughter of the late Charles and Margie DeRaimo. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Dence Deaton, step son, Denny Ray Deaton, maternal grandparents, Hubert and Josephine Ferrell, and paternal grandparents, Jim and Rosa DeRaimo.

Barbara was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Ellettsville, IN for 42 years. She served as the District Deputy, Past Grand Representative, Past Worthy Grand Matron, and served on various committees. Barbara had accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.

Barbara is survived by step children, Robbie and Linda Deaton; many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles too numerous to mention.

A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held at 12:00 noon Friday February 2, 2018 at Harding Funerals & Cremations with Pastor Junior Totten officiating. Interment will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park, London.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank her doctors and the staff at the Hubbard Hospice House West, South Charleston.
