Gail Maeletta "Gigi" Rogers passed on to eternity, January 27th at the age of 66. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends until her last breath.

Gail was born June 4, 1951 in McMinnville, Oregon to Ken and Anita Rogers. Gail had a big brother, Gordon, and would soon be followed by a younger brother, Gregg. As a child, Gail and the rest of the Rogers family spent summers visiting Idaho where she learned to swim, play and joined her brothers and cousins in epic all-night monopoly marathons.

Gail grew up in McMinnville, spending her childhood and teen years cultivating friendships that continued to be part of her life until the end. Gail was the secretary of her senior class at McMinnville High school and graduated in 1969.

She went on to attend Oregon State University, before becoming a flight attendant for United Airlines, where she was based in New York City. In 1974, Gail married John Barney and moved to a charming home in New Milford, CT, called Treetops. Gail and John's children, Vanessa and Keegan, spent many hours jumping into freshly raked piles of New England leaves.

In 1989 Gail and her husband and two children moved back to McMinnville. Gail and John later divorced and Gail started flying internationally -commuting to L.A. and San Francisco. She frequented Australia, Europe, and the Middle East.

Gail had a deep love for and connection to her mother, Anita, and inherited her gracious spirit of hospitality. Gail loved to provide a formal setting for just about any celebration you could think of. She loved a good tea time visit whether it be Earl Grey tea and scones from a pretty scone holder, or Rice Krispies snacks for the grandkids from the snack drawer.

She was known by many as a master flower arranger. She put together top-notch arrangements for all the family gatherings, her children's weddings, her friends' children's weddings, and many more.

These things mentioned, are just small pieces of her life. They are pieces that fit together with so many others to form a complex, colorful, wonderful tapestry that God has been weaving for 66 years. She wanted to be here longer for her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. They all love their Gigi as well, and her passing leaves an empty spot in their hearts.

Gail is survived by her father, Kenneth Rogers; brothers: Gordon Rogers and Gregg Rogers; daughter, Vanessa Foster (Todd); son, Keegan Barney (Janna); and grandchildren: Garrison, Brody, Cadence and Lucy Foster, and Keely and Emily Barney.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Anita Rogers.

A celebration of life gathering will be held at 5:00 pm on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Golden Valley Brewery.

Interment was at Evergreen Memorial Park.
