May, 29, 1937 - January 31, 2018

York, James M. "Jim" Markle, 80, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Mary J. (Schrum) Markle, who died in 2013.

Mr. Markle was born in York, May 29, 1937, son of the late Bernard Markle and Helen (Wagner) Markle Zeigler.

Jim was employed by Caterpillar as a parts handler, from which he retired. He was a life member of the Viking Athletic Assoc. and The Rooster Social Club. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and enjoyed going to the Hollywood Casino.

Survivors include two daughters, Lori J. Reeser and her husband, Seth of Manchester, and Kelly L. Peters and her companion, Scott Brenner of Red Lion; four grandchildren, Jordan and Rachel Reeser, and Tanner and Tyler Peters; and three brothers, Kenneth, Larry, and John Markle. He was preceded in death by four siblings, Judy, Nadine, Robert, and Levere.

There will be a memorial service 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home, Inc., 2290 School St., York (Shiloh). Burial will be private in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York.
