BENJAMIN SOL BEN KELLER, age 70, of Washington CH, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 3:55 a.m. at his home.
He was born on September 18, 1947 in Fayette County to Richard Harvey and Ruby Evidine Smith Keller. Ben proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam Era. He devoted 26 years of service to the Washington Fire Department and was known by his colleagues as, Gentle Ben. Ben also managed ODOT for several years and was self-employed with his company, Ben Keller Contracting. He was an active member at Crossroads Christian Church, the Fayette County Democratic Party, the International Association of Fire Fighters, the American Legion Post 25, the Dragon Angel Car Club, and the South Western Ohio Garden Tractor Club. Ben was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed his yearly fishing trips in Canada with his church buddies, working on tractors and farming with his son and grandson, daily breakfast meetings at Our Place Restaurant, and being with his family and friends.
Benjamin was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Tiffnie Ann Helsel Keller; grandson, Skylar Bain; and his brother, Robert Keller.
Survivors include his loving wife, Pamela Sue Moots Keller, whom he married on September 18, 1971; his son, Benjamin R. BR (Lisa) Keller; grandchildren, Sierra (Steven) Landacre, Desiree Bain and her fiancé, Jon Manson, Destiny (Ethan) Fitzpatrick, Daziar (Zach) Rumer, and Grayson Keller; great-grandchildren, Abygale Landacre, Hunter and Myligh Manson, Camden Fitzpatrick, and Baby Isabelle coming in June 2018; siblings, Gary (Judy) Keller, and Paul Keller; and his aunts, Betty Keller, and Ivalou (Virgil) Wallace. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Crossroads Christian Church, 175 Halliday Way, Washington CH, OH 43160, with Pastor Todd Maurer officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church on Monday evening from 4-8:00 p.m.
