Yvonne Maria Wilson, age 86, passed away in Monterey, California on January 26, 2018. Her final days and hours were spent surrounded by her loving family. Yvonne was born in Monterey on April 9, 1931, the seventh of eight children to John and Angelina Leandro. Her father, John Leandro emigrated from Portugal and Angelina Perry Leandro was born in California to Portuguese immigrants. Yvonne was a lifelong resident of the Monterey Bay area, graduating from Monterey High School and Beauty College.
After graduation she operated her own beauty salon. She met the love of her life, George J. Wilson Jr. They were married for 64 wonderful years and raised four sons. Together they worked to build a successful plumbing business in Pacific Grove. Yvonne was not only a hardworking business woman for over 45 years, but managed to be a devoted mother to her sons.
Following her retirement, she enjoyed traveling throughout the world, cooking, reading, spending time with friends, but her true passion and greatest love was always her family.
Yvonne leaves behind her loving husband; her sister; her sons; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren, as well as a close extended family and many loving friends.
She will be remembered for her generosity, beautiful contagious smile and for leading us by example to live a life of love, joy and integrity.
Visitation and Rosary will be held Monday, February 5, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with Rosary starting at 7:00 PM at The Paul Mortuary, 390 Lighthouse Avenue, Pacific Grove California.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St Angela Catholic Church, 360 Lighthouse Avenue, Pacific Grove, California. Interment to follow at at San Carlos Cemetery, Monterey California with Paul Mortuary directing.
