Janice Ruth Quinn, age 79, of Akron, Ohio, died on January 31, 2018 at Merriman Nursing Home.

She was born on November 2, 1938 in Pennsboro, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Owen J. and Mildred M. (nee Dodd) Taylor.

Janice was a secretary for several companies, Sear Rubber Company for many years, and Permanent Federal Savings and Loan Company. She also sold Avon for a while. She liked flower gardening, cooking, and taking care of her home. Mrs. Quinn used to quilt and knit. She was a member of the Goodyear Heights United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School, sang in the church choir, was a member of the bell choir, and a participant in the church clown ministry.

Her greatest joy was taking care of her husband of 61 years and her children. Survivors include her husband, Paul V. Quinn, whom she married on December 8, 1956; her sons, Paul J., Mark O., and John R. Quinn; grandchildren, Nicholas F. Quinn, Christopher O. Quinn, Maegan N. Lowe, Ridge T. Quinn, and Irelynn A. Quinn; her great-grandchildren, Kenny, Autumn, Lucas, and Sophia; her sister-in-law, Jane Taylor; her cousins, nieces, and nephews. Other than her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Taylor.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, where Pastor Van Fisher will celebrate Janice's life. Family and friends may visit on Monday, February 5, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Quinn will be laid to rest at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio.
