Marshall was born in Comanche Co, TX to Tillman Francis and Liddy Amanda Crawford Anderson. His father is buried in McGregor Cemetery in McGregor in McLennan County, TX. Marshall was a retired dairy man and a section foreman for the Cotton Belt Railroad. He shares a stone with his wife, Collie Mae Riley Anderson. Their sons, Billy Joe Anderson, Marvin Ray Anderson and Marshall Junior Anderson, and daughter, Lillian Anderson Beaird, are buried in Garden of Memories. He was residing in Elkhart at the time of his death in a Houston Hospital. He was survived by his wife; seven sons, Marshall Junior Anderson of Bossier City, LA, U. S. Army Sgt. Major Albert Anderson of Ft. Hood, Roy James Anderson and Bobby Gene Anderson of Houston, Robert Anderson of Ennis and Tilman Wayne Anderson and Marvin Ray Anderson, both of Elkhart; five daughters, Lillian Anderson Beaird and Martha Ann Anderson Callaway, both of Porter, Mary Ellen Anderson Irwin of Palestine and Lula Mae Anderson Wilson and Barbara Sue Anderson Thompson, both of Elkhart; two brothers, Earl Anderson of Waco and Clem Anderson of McGregor; three sisters, Millie Anderson Murphy of Memphis, Willie Anderson Carroll and Florence Anderson Poston, both of Waco; one half-sister, Lillie Kingdon of Waco; 33 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. His obituary was published in the Palestine Herald-Press, Thursday, 16 November 1972.
