Dennis Elroy Heine was born on August 18, 1932 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Watertown, the son of Harvey and Leona (nee Kraus) Heine. On July 9, 1955 he married Ethel Schroeder at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Farmington. Together they raised six children. Ethel preceded him in death on December 7, 2016. Dennis was born into a farming family and farming became his passion also. He farmed in the Helenville and Hebron areas. Dennis bought his first farm in the Jefferson area in 1969 on Popp Road. Later, he purchased a larger farm in the Markesan area on Cty Rd Q in 1977. He resided there for 37 years.
Dennis was a hard working man and a good provider for his family. Along with farming, Dennis worked in manufacturing. He was employed for seven years at Borgs in Jefferson. He then joined the maintenance team at Del Monte in Markesan. He enjoyed the many friendships made in the 17 years of employment at Del Monte. Dennis enjoyed country drives which more often than not ended at an implement dealer. He loved parades, fairs and tractor pulls. He had a proud collection of toy tractors and trucks.
