She was predeceased by her husband Loys Gene Garrison, her parents David Cleveland Johnson and Dulcie Magdelene Fikes Johnson of Walker County, Alabama.

Maternal Grandparents: Charles Andrew Fikes (1860–1943) and Victoria Isabell Mason Fikes

Also predeceased by brothers Joseph Milton Johnson(1909-1981) and Bervin Andrew Johnson (1912-1998), and sisters Dessie Johnson (1907-1944) and Sarah Nell Nanney (1927-2002).
She is survived by daughter, Jenny Sue Arnett (Johnny), sons Jerry William Garrison and Phillip Eugene Garrison (Denise), grandchildren Royce Garrison, Jonathan Garrison (Cathy), Jason Arnett (Kayla), and Lauren Garrison, nephews David Johnson and Bill Johnson, and nieces Rose Austin and Nell Parmley.
Dorothy Sue was retired from Rucker Lumber Co. and was a member of First Baptist Church of Center Point, Center Point, AL where she taught Sunday school and was active in the Senior Adult ministry and the Prayer Ministry of the church. She was also a member of the Birmingham Genealogy Society.
