MATTHEW J. CHANDLER, 17, of Harlan, died Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at Parkview Hospital. Born Feb. 5, 1990, in Fort Wayne, he was a student at Woodlan High School and worked part-time at Harlan Cafe. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Surviving are his parents, James Michael and Carolyn S. Chandler of Harlan; sister, Alyssa N. Chandler at home; brother, Cory M. Chandler at home; grandfather, Donald B. Stanton of Fort Wayne; and grandmother, Ruth Ann Chandler of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carol A. Stanton and James Wayne, and Nancy G. Chandler. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Harlan, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church. Burial in Harlan Memorial Cemetery, Harlan. Preferred memorials to Holy Trinity Youth Ministry or Harlan Christian Youth Center. Arrangements by Hockemeyer Funeral Home, Harlan.
