SULPHUR — Barbara Ann Moss Alexander, 73, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, in DeRidder.

She was a native of Sulphur, where she attended Lighthouse Tabernacle. She was a Bluebird leader, a Girl Scout leader, and a Boy Scout leader. She was a loving mother, wife, sister and grandmother.

Survivors include her daughters, Lee Ann Hebert of Baton Rouge, Donna Alexander of Sulphur and Sharon Schwoerer and her husband Mike of Sulphur; sons, Ashley Alexander of Sulphur and Don Alexander of Sulphur; sisters, Jean Tennison, Beverly Scholtens, Melissa Mistrzak and Jill Hines; brothers, Marvin Moss, Gary Moss, Bob Moss, Don Moss and Tom Moss; seven grandchildren; and seven greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mable Moss; husband of 30 years, James Alexander; son, James Douglas Alexander; daughter, Deborah Kay Alexander; and brother, C.L. Moss.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8, in the Lighthouse Tabernacle of Sulphur. The Rev. Alan Upton will officiate. Burial will be in Sallier Cemetery under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and 9-10 a.m. Monday at the church.
