-----------
On Monday, January 29, 2018, a very special daughter, sister and aunt, Susan Townsend was called home to God. Susan was born on May 30, 1957 in Tulsa, OK to John & Marlene Townsend and adoring big brother Chris. She was a graduate of Tulsa Webster High School-class of 1975, Draughn's Business School and Bauder School of Fashion-Ft. Worth, TX.

Susan worked in the family businesses for a number of years in various roles. She also was a substitute teacher for Union and Tulsa Public Schools; and a talented seamstress. Her true calling and joy in life was taking care of family. Susan was the selfless caregiver for her parents and maternal grand parents until their deaths. She had a very special bond with children and was the beloved ''Aunt Susie'' to her 8 nieces and nephews: Kalvin, Chelsea, Justin, Lacy, Tyler, Alex, Caleb & Emily. She was overjoyed and blessed by the new generation of 9 great nieces and nephews. Susan was known to never miss a birthday, graduation, wedding, baby shower or special occasion of any family member. Susan was a devout Christian with unwavering faith and attended Victory Christian Center.

Susan was preceded in death by her father in April of 2017 and her mother 3 weeks ago.

She is survived by siblings: Chris, Kent and Jamie Townsend-all residing in the Tulsa area; uncles Gerald Walker of Lafayette, LA; Ron Townsend of West Des Moines, IA; and 7 cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the American Diabetes Association in Susan's honor.

A celebration of Susan's life will be held on Monday, February 5th at 2:00 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Heath-Griffith Funeral Home
