Gregory A. “Greg” Burns, 34, of Worcester, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence, after an eight year battle with a brain cancer.
He leaves his loving wife of 7 years, Krystal (Goodney) Burns; his beloved two sons, Collin and Ethen Burns; his parents, John and Patricia Burns of Hudson; his brother, Michael Burns of Hudson; his father and mother-in-law, Donald and Bonnie Goodney of Shrewsbury; two sisters-in-law, Heather Redman and her husband Jonathan and Nicole Hill and her husband Nicholas; two nieces and a nephew. He was predeceased by his maternal and paternal grandparents, a sister, an aunt and an uncle. Greg was born in Waterbury, CT and moved to Hudson as a child. He graduated from Assabet Valley Regional Technical School in 1998. He held multiple jobs before his diagnosis in 2005. Greg loved fishing, hunting, and playing video games. His true passion was for football, whether playing or just being a supportive fan. He would watch anything that had to do with football, but especially enjoyed watching his two favorite teams, the New England Patriots and the San Francisco 49’s.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Greg’s family on Monday, September 2, 2013 from 4-7 PM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. A prayer service celebrating Greg’s life will be held on Tuesday, September 3rd at 11 AM in the funeral home, followed by burial in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
