Frances T. "Nell" Burns, 86, of Bessemer, AL passed away January 31, 2018. She was a member of Raimund Heights Baptist Church and retired from Jefferson County Department of Public Health with 30 years of service. Nell was a devoted wife, loving mother and proud Mammaw. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond D. Burns; her grandson, Christopher Jones and her granddaughter, Dr. Mallory Burns. Nell is survived by her sons, Johnny (Linda) Burns and Raymond D. (Tonya) Burns; her daughters, Carol Jones and Yancey Lynn; her grandchildren, Johnny, Scott, LeeAnn, Jennifer, Ashley, Alesha, Ben, Jill and Alex along with seven great grandchildren. Funeral service will be Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Bessemer Brown Service Funeral Home with burial following at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Rev. Tim Tindle will be officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Bessemer Brown Service Funeral Home is honored to serve the Burns family.
