Greg grew up learning auto mechanics working under his dad and alongside his brother Randy at Purcell Automotive. Greg had a fascination with mechanics and would often take things apart just to understand how they operated. Putting things back together usually involved a few tweaks to improve performance. His family saw this frequently with 4-wheel drives, tractors, lawn mowers, and even household appliances. After graduating from Purcell High school in 1980, Greg spent some time working in the oil field before opening his own auto repair business in Purcell. Greg also completed engineering courses at Rose State college and over the years expanded his business to include auto and heavy equipment sales.
More recently, Greg focused on taking care of his rental property. It was not uncommon to see him driving his orange Allis Chalmers tractor or yellow Case Backhoe throughout Southway Mobile Home Park; making sure the properties were tended to. He also loved going to the farm with his brother Randy. Sometimes the brothers claimed to be working hard running the bulldozer at the farm, but they could more often be found in the pond, floating on a life jacket while hand feeding the catfish and enjoying a cold one. His favorite endeavor was spending time with his daughters Cari and Spencer. Whether the girls were indulging in a juicy steak at Cattlemens, or in the shop learning how to maintain their own Hondas, they enjoyed doing everything with dad.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Evelyn Elliott. He is survived by his daughters, Cari Elliott of Purcell and Spencer Elliott of Katy, Texas, his brother Randy Elliott of Purcell, his nephew Robby Elliott of Norman and niece Amanda Elliott Morris of Wayne.
