He married Emily Jane Zeigler and fathered Harry M. (b. @1872), Zula (b. 07/14/73), John W. (b. 08/19/74), Charles Madison (b. 09/16/75), Percy A. (b. 10/30/76), and Edward (b. @1878). He resided much of his post-war life in Aspers, Adams County, but died at his home in Mt. Holly Springs, Cumberland County, from "arteriosclerosis and fatty degeneration of heart."
