Mark was born in Chester, Pa., but relocated to Henrico with his family when he was 11 years old. He was a graduate of J.R. Tucker High School (1982) and Randolph-Macon College, with a biology degree in 1986. He went on to attend VCU Medical College of Virginia, where he attended the School of Dentistry and graduated in 1990. Mark adored and loved his family, supporting his children and all their activities in any way he could. An avid baseball fan and high school player, Mark umpired for Atlee Little League between the years of 2002 and 2005, along with coaching his son's little league and travel baseball teams. He also enjoyed metal detecting with his father.
