Sarah Turner Hampton, 80, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 9, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Sarah was predeceased by her parents; Joseph and Mattie Ray of Suffolk, first husband; O.R. Turner Jr., a son; Dale J. Turner and one grandson; Christopher Turner. She is survived by her very faithful and loving husband of 32 years Rev. Ray Hampton, Daughters; Rebecca T. Parker, and husband Ronnie of Gates, NC; Sharon T. Peelen, and husband John of Suffolk, VA; Son, Ronald O. Turner Sr. of Suffolk, VA. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Jody T. Brinkley and husband Vernon and Jeff R. Taylor and wife Mary, both of Gates, NC; Ronald O. Turner Jr., Spencer L. Hart IV, Bryan J. Turner, Sarah J. Peelen and Katie N. Peelen and six great grandchildren. She was a member of Surry Baptist Church and she was retired from the Lipton Tea Company where she was employed for 34 years. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 7:00-8:30 pm at R.W. Baker and Company Funeral Home, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, VA. A funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Wilroy Baptist Church, 306 Williams Rd., Suffolk, VA. Interment will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery. Sarah was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. Her faith and love of God led her to be a generous and caring person. She was a bright light in many people's lives.
