Sarah Turner Hampton, 80, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 9, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Sarah was predeceased by her parents; Joseph and Mattie Ray of Suffolk, first husband; O.R. Turner Jr., a son; Dale J. Turner and one grandson; Christopher Turner. She is survived by her very faithful and loving husband of 32 years Rev. Ray Hampton, Daughters; Rebecca T. Parker, and husband Ronnie of Gates, NC; Sharon T. Peelen, and husband John of Suffolk, VA; Son, Ronald O. Turner Sr. of Suffolk, VA. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Jody T. Brinkley and husband Vernon and Jeff R. Taylor and wife Mary, both of Gates, NC; Ronald O. Turner Jr., Spencer L. Hart IV, Bryan J. Turner, Sarah J. Peelen and Katie N. Peelen and six great grandchildren. She was a member of Surry Baptist Church and she was retired from the Lipton Tea Company where she was employed for 34 years. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 7:00-8:30 pm at R.W. Baker and Company Funeral Home, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, VA. A funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Wilroy Baptist Church, 306 Williams Rd., Suffolk, VA. Interment will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive guests following the service at their home, 1236 Willowbrook Dr., Suffolk, VA. Condolences may be registered online at www.rwbakerfh.com. Sarah was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. Her faith and love of God led her to be a generous and caring person. She was a bright light in many people's lives. Although she will be missed on this earth, she wears her crown of Glory for all eternity. Her love continues to shine through us all.
