Lawrence Eugene Kasper passed peacefully on December 12, 2016 at the age of 88. He was born April 7, 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA to Joseph and Rose Kasper, one of 5 children. He graduated from Crafton High School in Pittsburgh and attended Carnegie Business School. He served active duty in the US Army from 1951 to 1953. He married Norma Anne Schlegel in 1955 at St. Cyril of Alexandria Church in Pittsburgh. He worked for Matthews International Corporation in sales and management for 36 years.

Through a series of promotions, he and Norma, and their 3 sons moved from Pittsburgh to Lebanon, OH; to St. Louis, MO; and finally to Mercer Island, WA in 1973. He was an accomplished vocalist, pianist and organist, and he served many years as a church organist. He founded the Boys Choir at St. Francis de Sales in Lebanon, OH. After his retirement, he and Norma shared their love of travel.

He is survived by his wife, Norma; and sons Mark (Brenda), Scott and Todd.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Monica Catholic Church, 4311 88th Ave SE, Mercer Island, WA 98040. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Larry's name to St. Monica School General Fund.
