Donald Eugene Marr, 76, of Chandlerville, passed away at Passavant Hospital in Jacksonville at 1:15 a.m. on Monday, January 29, 2018.

He was born May 8, 1941 in Chandlerville to Dwight and Inez (Force) Marr. He married Jackie McNeal on August 4, 1967.

Mr. Marr is survived by his wife, Jackie, of Chandlerville; daughter, Lisa Richards; son, William Ryan Marr; grandchildren, Michelle (Randy) Neumann, Adam (Taylor) Turner, Payton Marr, Kalin Gunter and Kristen Gunter; great-grandchildren, Mason, Alexis and Landon Neumann, Case Turner, as well as several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Mimi. Also surviving is one sister, Barbara (Danny) Cook, of Jacksonville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Brian Johnson; brothers, Jerry and Dick Marr and sisters, Marjorie Towery, Dorothy Richard and Gloria Potts.

Mr. Marr served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of American Legion Post #694 in Chandlerville. He owned and operated the Hitching Post for 17 years and Marr's Quick Stop in Chandlerville for 22 years. He drove a school bus for Chandlerville and AC Central school districts for 29 years. He was a gun collector who enjoyed hunting and trap shooting.
