She was born Feb. 10, 1913, in Muses Mills, Kentucky, the youngest child born to Alfred and Nancy Margaret Davis. She resided in Anderson most of her life until breaking her shoulder in the fall of 2013. At that time, she moved to Rawlins House in Pendleton. She relocated to Indiana from Kentucky back in the 1950s. At one time, she and her late husband, Richard "Elmer" Stacy Sr., worked at Story's Truck Stop.
She loved to garden and mowed her own yard well into her '90s. After her fall, one of the highlights of her days was when her great-great-granddaughter, Brynlyn, came to visit her.
Survivors include her son, Richard E. (wife, Linda) Stacy Jr. of Anderson; three grandchildren, Tammy (husband, Bob) Talley of Anderson, Todd (wife, Debbie) Stacy of Gulf Breeze, Florida, and Derek (Claire Campbell) of Anderson; stepgrandson, Brian (Tracy Myszak) Turner of Indianapolis; two great-grandchildren, Jennifer (fiancé, Amy Delk) Everitt and Eric (wife, Morgan) Everitt, all of Anderson; a great-great-granddaughter, Brynlyn Rachelle Kay Everitt of Anderson and another great-great-granddaughter due in April; many nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, whom she married Feb. 12, 1939, Richard Elmer Stacy Sr., on March 6, 1989; grandson, Bradley Alan Stacy on May 14, 1966; her parents; three sisters, Nancy Farris, Alpha Smith and Sallie Gardner; and two brothers, Russell Davis and Richard Davis.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, with the Rev. Michael Canada officiating. Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
