Shirley Geraldine Harding, 86, of Wernersville, passed away peacefully in Spruce Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation on Thursday, January 25, 2018.

Born in Mohnton on August 19, 1931, Shirley was a daughter of the late Irvin and Edna Mae (Witmer) Harding. She was a graduate of Mohnton High School.

Shirley was employed with New Holland Agriculture, the former Sperry Rand Corporation for 54 years before semi-retiring. Later, she was employed with Redner's Market as a deli clerk for several years and with API Technologies as a secretary before retiring completely at age 78.

Shirley was very active and never sat still. She was an avid golfer and bowler, and often enjoyed walking for miles a day. She traveled all over the world. She loved family outings, vacations, picnics and gatherings. Shirley was considered the life of the party and enjoyed just hanging out with her many friends. She was glad the Eagles were heading to the Super Bowl since she was a huge fan.

Surviving are four siblings: Allen Harding and his wife, Ethel, of Ephrata; June (Harding) Lamonica, of Shillington; Betty (Harding) Latshaw, of Mohnton; and Eugene Harding and his wife, Nancy, of Pottstown; two nephews, Lenny and Barry; eight nieces: Laureen, Lyn, Chris, Ann, Karen, Patty, Sharon and Kelly; 12 grand-nieces and nephews; and eight great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Shirley is predeceased by two brothers, Henry and Lee Harding; a sister, Barbara (Harding) Lonenberger; two nephews, Russell "Rusty" Lamonica Jr. and Eugene "Marty" Harding Jr.; and a grandnephew, Bradley Bender.

Services for Shirley will be at 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2018, in Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home for a viewing on Thursday from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Shirley will be inurned in Forest Hills Memorial Park, 391 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606, on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at 11:45 a.m. Family and friends are asking to form the funeral procession in the entrance of the cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
