Joseph A. Neal, 77, of Souderton, PA entered into rest on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at his residence. He was the loving husband of Joan (Hibbs) Neal for 51 years. Joe was born in North Wales, PA to the late Bernard and Sara (Ruth) Neal.
Serving with the 4th Marine Corps District during the Cuban Missile Crisis, he was honorably discharged in January 1965.
Joe was employed as a millwright for R.T. French Company in Souderton for 25 years from the mid 60’s to till closing of the plant in the 90’s. During the 90’s he was employed by Ford Electronics-Visteon, Lansdale, PA.
He enjoyed repairing anything mechanical, wood working, gardening and vacationing out west. Joe was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who was an excellent provider. His friends and neighbors knew him as a person who could fix almost anything.
In addition to his wife Joan, he is survived by two sons, James A. Neal his wife Lynn of Friedens, PA and Steven B. Neal his wife Joette of Telford, PA; two daughters, Christine L. Wietry her husband John of Dillsburg, PA and Kathleen A. Cowles her husband Dan of New Durham, NH; two grandchildren, Alexander and Christopher; two brothers, Robert Neal his wife Anna of Souderton, PA and Richard Neal his wife Bonnie of Sellersville, PA and a sister, Carol Del Vecchio of Lansdale, PA.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bernard, Edward, and John Neal.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 at Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory, Souderton, PA.
