Rita Elizabeth Walters, 85, passed away to be with her loving husband, Edgar on Saturday night in Virginia Beach. Rita was born in Yonkers, NY to the late Peter and Antoinette DiSandro. Rita was a devoted homemaker who focused on her family's happiness. She loved spending time with her family, cooking her favorite Italian dishes, reading and her love of animals.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Walters, and her husband, Jeff Barnett; sister, Angela DiSandro Larsen and husband, Fred of Florida; granddaughter, Miranda Elizabeth Jacobs and her father, William Jacobs and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be a graveside service for Rita later in the spring time at Rosewood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be sent to Alzheimer's Disease Research.
