He was born on October 19, 1945 in Hamletsburg, IL. Son of the late Cecil and Marie (Powell) Hogan. On August 25, 1979 in Harmony, IL he married Debra Kunde. Ron was a US Army Vietnam Veteran, a former volunteer with Marengo Fire Department for many years. A member of IBEW Local #117 Crystal Lake for 29 years. He retired from Associated Electrical Contractors, Woodstock, And he was employed by Marengo Community High School for 10+ years.
Survived by his wife, Debbie; and two daughters, Kristine (Randy) Zwart and Julie (Steve) Dickerson. Four grandchildren, Hunter and Shelby Zwart, Ashley and Megan Dickerson. His sister, Lois (Charles) Johnston; and two brothers, Vernon Hogan and Larry (Nancy) Hogan; and several nieces & nephews.
A brother, Gail Hogan also preceded him in death.
Ron was a loyal fan of attending sports activities for his grandkids, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He also enjoyed family get-togethers, going camping, boating and fishing.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday February 3, 2018. At Joe's Place 19716 East Grant Hwy. Marengo, IL 60152 from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made OSF/St. Anthony College of Nursing Scholarship fund 698 Featherstone Road Rockford, IL 61107
Private interment will be in McHenry County Memorial Park
Woodstock with military honors.
