Floyd Long, age 84, went to be with the Lord on April 30, 2015. He was a member of Deep Springs Baptist Church in Heiskell. He enjoyed coon and deer hunting. He loved to talk to people and made friends easily. Floyd was a Mason, Shriner, and was in the Scottish Rites. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Marines. He was a painter and was employed for many years as the Business Agent in Local 460, in Hammond, Indiana.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dorsey and Flonnie Long; infant son, Michael Long; brothers, Edward and Herbert Long; sisters, Peggy Long, Wilma Stanford, and Phyllis Morris. Survived by loving, caring, and devoted wife, Betty Long; daughter, Carolyn (Long) Hill and husband, Wesley, Tammy (Long) Rawls and husband, Calvin; son, James Long and wife, Tammy; seven grandchildren, Shawna Harness, Shane Hill, Jesse Rawls, Corey Rawls, Megan Rawls, Carly Long, and Michael Long; five great grandchildren, Justin and Cheyenne Harness, Trever Rawls, Memphis and Neyland Hill; sister, Cleva Carter; brother, Herman Long; many special nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday, May 7th from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral service will follow, with Rev. Darren Harness officiating. Graveside service will be private. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. www.holleygamble.com
