Gordon Leonard Albro passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018 in Lakeland, FL.

Gordon was born to parents William and Sarah Albro on January 17, 1932 in Syracuse, NY and grew up the youngest of six. He graduated from East Syracuse High School and attended Canton College from 1950-52 earning an Associate's Degree in Mechanical Technician while also serving as Vice President of the Zeta Alpha Phi Fraternity.

He enlisted in the US Navy in 1953 and received an Honorable Discharge four years later as a Second Class Fire Control Technician. He transitioned to work for IBM as a time clock repairman where he worked for 33 years retiring (1990) as Training and Education Development Program Manager.

While employed at IBM, Gordon earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (1978) from American University and Master of Arts in Education and Human Development (1983) from George Washington University. He was inducted into Phi Delta Kappa Honor Society for his academic merits. Gordon dedicated much of his time in community service; notable positions include Vice President of Bull Run VA Chapter of the Lions Club and as President of the Tampa Bay Golf and Country Club Men's Golf Association.

Gordon is survived by his wife Agnes; sons William, Thomas, Jeffrey and Brian; his sister Joan Tolhurst; and five grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his daughter Joan; his parents; his sister Dorothy Drossos; and his brothers, Lloyd, Raymond and William Albro.

A ceremony will be held at the Florida National Cemetery at Bushnell at a later date.
