Funeral service for Gary Love, 65, of Elgin, Oklahoma, will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at the Elgin Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Elgin Memorial Cemetery under the direction of the Elgin Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Elgin Funeral Home.

Gary Lee Love was born in Elgin, Oklahoma to Lee Roy and Emma Alice (Jones) Love on July 25, 1952. He grew up in Elgin and has remained there ever since. Gary attended Elgin Schools throughout his schooling years. He married Sherry Duncan in Lawton, Oklahoma on June 4, 1973. The couple was blessed with two daughters, Jerri Love Thomas and Leah Love Laurenzana. He and Sherry separated in 1982. Gary started his working career as a young teen, running a pool hall in Elgin. He worked for Jack McIntosh in the hayfields for a short time. He worked as a carpenter for most of his life until slowly beginning to retire this last year. Gary loved his daughters and spent a lot of the early years focusing on them. As the grandsons began to appear, he became a devoted Pawpaw. He spent many a day busy with the boys enjoying all kinds of things. He taught each of his daughters and all 4 grandsons how to drive. Family was very important to him. He loved spending time with the great grandsons. Gary loved all of his family, but his greatest love was his mother.
He is survived by 2 daughters: Jerri Love Thomas and Jody, of Fletcher and Leah Love Laurenzana and Jason, of Elgin; 4 grandsons: Garrett Thomas and Arely, Marcus Love and Jason Ray Laurenzana, all of Elgin, and Brayden Thomas, of Fletcher; 2 great grandsons: Little Garrett and Maxie Thomas, of Elgin; 1 brother, Larry Love and Kathy, of Elgin; 5 sisters: Barbara Cunningham and Joe, Pam Lutonsky and Bill, Cindy Latimer and Doyle, Gina McClure and Bruce, and Donna Latimer, all of Elgin; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Lee Roy and Alice Love; grandparents: Melvin and Anna Love and Eulist and Hannah Jones; and 1 brother in law, Dale Latimer.
