Peggy Lou Henderson, 66 of Mexia passed away January 18, 2018 at Parkview Regional Hospital in Mexia. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Corley-Porter Funeral Home with Demetrius Beachum officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Burial Park. Visitation with the family present will be Sunday evening 6:00 – 7:30 at Corley-Porter Funeral Home.
Peggy was born February 16, 1951 in Clovis, New Mexico to William & Helen Glen. She loved to crochet and loved spending time with her family. Peggy was a member of the Lake Mexia Volunteer Fire Department for over 20 years and attended the Lone Star Cowboy Church of Mexia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Glen & Helen Upshaw; husband, Lewis “Smokey” Henderson and one brother. Peggy is survived by her children, William Doylan Lee of Mexia, Christopher Dean Lee & wife Martha of Rivera, Amber Danette Brooks & husband Michael of Longview and Ashley Rochelle Leger & husband Bradley of Mexia; grandchildren, Joey Lee and Kyle Lee both of Rivera, Devin Brooks and Nicholas Brooks both of Waco, and Kaitlyn Leger and Elaina Leger both of Mexia; sisters, Sueanne Valencia of New Mexico and Donna Longoria & husband Junior of Christine and brothers, Kyle Glen & wife Lee Ann of Clovis, New Mexico and Stephen Upshaw of Arizona.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jonathon Shaw, Lonnie Hall, Jr., Rodney Irvin, Jesse Owens, Jr., Seth Sykora and Joseph Owens. Honorary pallbearers will be members of all of the Limestone County Volunteer Fire Departments
