Catherine Elizabeth Steffenhagen (nee Koch), 98, of Lake City MN passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Health System Lake City Care Center. Catherine was born on October 1, 1919, in rural West Albany Township to Constance and Mary (nee Sauter) Koch. She grew up on the family farm. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church and graduated from Mary E. McCahill High School in 1938. After graduation she worked several years as a telephone operator at the Dwelle Telephone Company in Lake City and also played piano with various bands on weekends. Catherine married Harry Steffenhagen on October 26, 1946 at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City. She was a lifelong resident and homemaker of Lake City.
