Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 17th at 11:00 a.m. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home in Janesville with Rev. Daniel Andrews officiating. Interment will be in the Medo Central Cemetery, Blue Earth County. Visitation will be held on Friday morning for one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Clarissa Lillian was born on October 19, 1903, in Cream, Minnesota to Ira and Flora (Blaisdell) Southwick. She was a 1925 graduate of Pemberton High School, and went on to attend Mankato Normal College. Clarissa was united in marriage on June 9, 1930, to Robert Marx. Robert's career with Scott Stores, a division of Ben Franklin, led the family to Chicago. Following her husband's death in 1986, Clarissa remained in Highland Park until 1992. At that time Clarissa moved to an assisted living in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, and in 1994 to Lake Shore Inn Nursing Home in Waseca, Minnesota.

She is survived by her sister Marjorie Andrews of Pemberton; by her sister-in-law Pearl Southwick of Pemberton; by many nieces and nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by parents; by her husband Robert in 1986 and her only child, Marjorie C. Marx on March 29, 1992; by two sisters Blossom Peterson and Florence Shaw, and three brothers Frank, Ira and Harold Southwick; by her sister-in-law Nellie Southwick. Mankato Free Press15 Oct 2008
