Westminster – David Simpson Blackwell, 64, husband of Evelyn Dale Blackwell, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Prisma Health Oconee Memorial Hospital.
A native of Oconee County, he was the son of Horace “Shorty” Blackwell and the late Ollie Belle Roach Blackwell. He was a former security guard at Borg Warner and the former Pastor of Bibleway Ministry. David was an avid hunter and loved his animals dearly, he was of the Christian Faith.
In addition to his wife and father, David is survived by a son, Danny Blackwell of Walhalla; daughters, Melissa Davis of Spartanburg, Lisa Burdette of Tennessee; eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by sons, Michael Webb, Joey Gilliam; and a sister, Martha Ann B. Gillespie.
A funeral service will be held 2 pm, Monday, November 23rd, 2020 at the Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Heritage Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:30 pm, prior to the service.
