Westminster – John James Bonham, 90, husband of Hazel Cox Bonham, passed away, Monday, September 7th, 2020 at, his residence.

Born in Grayson County, Virginia, John was the son of the late Spurgeon and Mabel Sheets Bonham. John was a retired mechanic from Kendall, he was a United States Army Veteran, during the Korean War, and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. John was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and gardening.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Hazel Cox Bonham; son, James R. Bonham and wife Brenda of Westminster; four grandchildren, Misty Stasney and husband Paul, John Richard Earl Bonham, James Adam Bonham and wife Kim, Donovan Michael Bonham and wife Brittany, six great-grandchildren, Levi Stasney, Gracie Stasney, Alexa Boham, Xander Bonham, Kayleigh Bonham, and Grady Bonham; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne Bonham, Paul Bonham, Victor Bonham; sisters, Hallie Bonham, Callie Timmons, Alice Poole, Hessie Nelson.

The service will be held 11 am, Thursday, September 10th, 2020 at Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Ted Bonham, nephew, and Rev. Christopher Moss and Rev. John McKnight with burial to follow at Heritage Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, September 9th, 2020 at Sandifer Funeral Home.
