Charles Eugene “Gene” Frizzell, 83, of Hixson, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018.
He attended Mile Straight Baptist Church and was a faithful member of the Joymakers Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Daisy Masonic Lodge #706 F&AM.
Gene served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from the Hamilton County Department of Education where he drove Bus # 5.
Gene was known as “Woodcutter” on the CB Radio. He enjoyed woodworking, cabinet making and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ruben and Margie Frizzell; brother, R.J. Frizzell and sister, Shirley Woody.
Survivors are his loving wife of 56 years, Faye Abney Frizzell; son, Barry Frizzell; daughter, Gina Phillips (John); grandchildren, Grant Phillips, Laura Phillips and McKenzie Frizzell and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Al Goss and Dr. Tommy Goss officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
