Franklin O. Baker, 89, a former resident of 342 North 11th St. , and retired Decatur General Electric Co. employe, died at 4:10 a.m. today at the Adams county memorial hospital, following an extended illness. Mr. Baker has been in critical condition for the past four weeks. He had resided at the Berne Nursing home for the past year.

A member of the St. Mark's United Methodist Church , Mr. Baker was a lifelong resident of Decatur .

Born in Decatur on Dec. 11, 1885, he was a son of Phillip and Nancy Kinsey-Baker, and was united in marriage to Opal Butcher on Christmas Day, 1912. She preceded him in death on Dec. 20, 1968.

Survivors include one son, Otis F. Baker of Logansport; three daughters, Mrs. Evan (Eldora) Brady of Palm Bay, Fla.; Mrs. Stan (Edith) Kling of Decatur; Mrs. Neal (Norma) Agler of Berne; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Two sons, three sisters, and three brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Winteregg-Linn & Haggard funeral home, with Rev. Fuhrman Miller, Rev. Sylvester Martin and Rev. Earl Peer officiating. Burial will be in the Decatur cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 12 noon Monday.
