She attended Portage High School, Class of 1991 and Ivy Tech School Class of 1993, Surgical Technology (CST). Erika had been employed at Methodist Hospital Southlake for 8 years and Rush Hospital in Hinsdale for 2 years as a Surgical Tech.
She was preceded in death by her father- Marin D Smith; grandparents- Robert and Betty Malone, Arnold and Norma Smith; uncle- Charles Michel Malone.
Erika is survived by her son- Brandon Michael White; daughter- Haley Tanay White of Portage; mother- Susan (John) Blumenthal of Portage; brother- Sean David Smith of Pikesville MA; step-mother- Pam Smith of North Judson; aunts- Tommie (Mike) Bryant of TN, Lynne (Al) Poquette of MS; uncle- Danny (Brenda) Malone of TN; great aunt Micky Simmons of TN; cousins and good friend- Jerry
