He was the son of Harry Bushrod Fowler, and Augusta Isabelle "Belle" Brooke.
Colonel Jack Fowler was a highly decorated WWII Veteran, flight engineer, Communications Officer and top turret gunner of the B-17 nicknamed "Little Skipper", 100th Bomber Group, Square "D", 349th Squadron surviving 33 combat missions over Germany and occupied countries.
Ending his 30+ year career in the U.S. Air Force as a Colonel, finally retiring in Pinehurst, built a house on course #6, to play golf eight (8) days a week.
He is to be buried at Arlington VA., with his first wife Dorothy L. Brown Fowler, who passed away Oct. 22, 2012.
They are survived by three children; Jack A. Fowler II and his wife Jane N., Richard J. Fowler and Wendy A. Fowler, grandchildren; Jessica L.A., Robyn N., and Jack (Gus) A. Fowler III.
There will be no memorial service held; in lieu of Flowers, request donation to The National WWII Museum at:
