DEAN, Charles David 68, of Springfield, died peacefully surrounded by his family Wednesday April 15, 2009 in his residence. He was born April 13, 1941 in Springfield, Ohio, the son of Henley and Hattie (Dillman) Dean.
David retired from International Harvester after thirty-two years. He also had worked for the Clark County Sheriff's Department for twelve years.
Survivors include his loving wife of fifty years, Nettie (Fugate) Dean; two daughters and son-in-law, Jennifer Dean of New Carlisle; Beth and Brian McClellan of North Carolina; two sons and daughter-in-law, Greg and Mary Dean of Springfield; Alan Dean of Springfield; three brothers and sisters-in-law; Gene and Sharon Dean; Frank and Barbara Dean; Jack and Beverly Dean all of Springfield; eight grandchildren, Dallas, Hannah, Brooke, Blair, Brent, Logan, Lydia and Chase.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Virgil and Oscar.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. with Pastor Ronald Riley officiated.
Private burial was held for the family Saturday April 18, 2009.
