Sharon Mae Roach, 79, Bismarck, ND, passed peacefully on Friday, January 26, at St. Vincent’s Care Center in Bismarck, ND.

Sharon Mae (Michael) Roach was born on October 5, 1938, in Billings, MT, to Herman and Amelia (Frank) Michael. Her family resided in Laurel, MT, and she graduated from Laurel High School in 1956. She attended Eastern Montana College for one year. She then met and married Gerald R. Roach on October 25, 1958 at St. Anthony’s Church in Laurel, MT. They began their married life in Lisbon, ND, where the first of their five children, Mark Christopher, was born. From there they moved to Laurel, MT, where the remaining children, Timothy Michael, Kent Edward, Darrin Patrick and Daniel Gerald were born. The family then moved to Valley City, ND, in 1969 where they spent many fun-filled years and from there to Bismarck, ND, in 1975 where they spent the remainder of their years.

Sharon was employed at Super 8 until 1983 when she went to work for The Cystic Fibrosis Association of North Dakota. She retired from CFA in 1995. The “Cystic Family” was dear to Sharon’s heart.

When the boys were growing up Sharon was a den mother, volunteered at their school and attended all their sporting events. She was active in various church groups and before retiring from the Cub Scout Program she was honored with an award for her years of volunteering.

Since her retirement Sharon’s time was spent close to home due to Parkinson’s Disease. She was “Mimi” to seven grandchildren and they were the love of her life. She enjoyed e-mailing her sister every day, crocheting, embroidering, reading, crossword puzzles and cooking German food.

Survivors include sons, Timothy Michael, Billings, MT, Kent Edward (Bonnie), Bismarck, ND, Darrin Patrick (Andrea), Fargo, ND, and Daniel Gerald (Judy), Kent, WA; grandchildren, Shanley Roach, Minneapolis, MN, Gabriel Roach, Folsom, CA, and Kendra, Shayna and Ashland Roach of Fargo, ND; brothers, Gary Michael, Boise, ID, Lanny (Cindy) Michael, Bellevue, WA; and her sister Judith (Jerry) Crow, Billings, MT. She also had several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Gerald Roach; parents, Herman and Amelia Michael; son, Mark Christopher; grandsons, Keegan and Garrett Roach; and sister-in-law, Meryle Kaye Michael.
