Ina Marie Stevens, 73, of Chelan Washington died Wednesday, at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee after a long and bravely fought battle with cancer.

She was born in Williamsville, Missouri to David N. and Lena Lossie (Burkett) Duckett. On December 13, 1946 she married C. Boyd Markham, now deceased, in Williamsville, Missouri and had two children, Marie Jean and Marvin Jefferson (Jeff).

On August 22, 1972 she married John H. Stevens in Port Orchard, Washington and came to love his two children, John R. and Joann. There she attended the First Baptist Church of Port Orchard where she was a valuable and active member.

Ina and John moved to Chelan in 1979. She was a member of the Lake Chelan Baptist church, holding such positions as Sunday School Teacher and Director, WMU Director, and chairing numerous committees.

Ina was best known for her radiant smile and loving spirit. She served her Chelan community at the Food Bank, Senior Center Meals, and Regency Manor Nursing Home.

She was an avid gardener, getting untold pleasure from giving away produce and flowers as well as keeping family and friends supplied with delectable jams and dried fruits. Many a loved one feasted at her table of delicious and lovingly prepared meals.

Surviving are her husband John, his son John R. Stevens and wife Louise of Seattle, and his daughter Joann Stevens of Conway, Arkansas.

Ina Marie's surviving descendants are her son Jeff and her daughter Marie and husband Jim Bruns. Her grandchildren are Shane Dobbs, Marisa (Dobbs) Clauson, Jeremy Markham, Jolena Dobbs, Joshua Markham, and Liana Markham. Her great grandchildren include Kayla, Harley, Payton, Nicholas, Kendell, Hunter, and Hailey.

She is also survived by her Aunt Eunice Marie Wilmore of Chicago, Illinois, her sisters Diane Fuchs of Williamsville, Missouri and June I James of Sullivan, Missouri. Ina Marie's brothers Van, Russell, Roland, and Don Duckett preceded her in death.

Memorial services will be held in both Chelan and Bremerton, Washington. The Chelan service will be held at the Lake Chelan Baptist Church on Monday, June 20, 2005 at 1:00 PM.

The Bremerton service will be held at the Miller Woodlawn Memorial Park Chapel on Thursday, June 23, 2005 at 1 :00 PM.

The family requests that those wishing to send flowers do so by delivering them to either of the memorial services.
