Elizabeth Ann Freeland Kemp passed away at her home on January 23, 2018 in the presence of her daughters at the age of 93. She was compassionately cared for in her final days by the caring staff of Grace Hospice.
Ann loved music and was an accomplished pianist. She shared her love of music not only with her family but as an entertainer and accompanist in her community. She began playing the piano young, first taught at home by well known piano teacher Jess Freeland (her mother) in Bristow, Oklahoma. Her father, Thomas Freeland also contributed to her musical accomplishment, steadily encouraging practice and precision form childhood through college. She earned her degree in music from William Woods College, Fulton, Missouri.
For many years she accompanied both the Atlanta and Marietta Ballet (now Georgia Conservatory of Dance) before moving to Bartlesville in 1977. Here in Bartlesville she was known for her sing alongs and entertainment at Heritage Villa and Green Country Village. Her love of the arts led her to form Reacts Unlimited Theater Group after many years of stage performances in several theater groups in Bartlesville. She attended theater workshops led by Mary Steenburgen and Clu Gulager.
She had spirit and energy both as an accomplished duplicate bridge player and an animal advocate. She supported the SPCA and gave homes to many homeless animals which became beloved members of the family.
She enjoyed entertaining her many friends and traveling. Ann will be enduringly appreciated by her family for instilling in them a love of the arts and music and a sense of fun.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 yrs , Monte William Kemp.
She is loved and missed by her family: daughters Becky (Eddie) Wadsworth, Christy Beck and Judy (David Gardner )Kemp; granddaughter Jessie (Enrique) Molina, grandson Ryan Beck and great grandchildren James and Michael Arce.
