Denise Yvonne Henderson-Haynes was born on January 2, 1959 in Evanston, Illinois to the union of Willie and Sheila Henderson. She was the oldest of seven children. She was reared and educated in Indianapolis, Indiana graduating from Broad Ripple high school in 1976. She continued her education at Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio and completed her (BS) Bachelor of Science Degree in 1991. In 2008 she embarked on a Dual degree Graduate program completing and being awarded her (MS) Master of Science degree in 2010. Continuing her education she completed her Masters of Health Administration degree and was awarded her MBA in 2012, from the University of Maryland University College in Adelphi, Maryland.

Denise was raised in a loving Christian home. She always had a desire to serve God. She converted to Catholicism and went to Pennsylvania to study to be a nun at, The Order of the Bernadine Franciscan Sisters for four years. Later in life she followed Islamic spirituality and devoted herself to serving God and helping others in any way possible especially the field of medicine.

She was passionate about sonography/ultrasound and taught many others in this field. Eventually, she opened her own Ultrasound school in Georgia. Later after having finishing her MBA studies she became the Director of the Cardiodynamics department of a major hospital, showcasing her leadership skills.

Denise met her future husband Raymond Haynes in 1992 at Howard University in Washington DC while completing a year-long Premed program. They were inseparable and were a loving and devoted couple for 25 years, residing in Duluth, Georgia. Denise was a devoted wife who was always supportive and committed to her husband, always putting her family and those who she knew first.

She is preceded in death by; her mother Sheila Henderson, and sister Dr. Sharon Henderson Nnam. She leaves to cherish her memory: Her devoted and loving husband Raymond Haynes, his two sons, Raja'ee Haynes and Cyrell Haynes and his brother Rashade Haynes. Her father, Wille Henderson, three brothers: Dhurrian Henderson-( wife Dusty), Adrian Henderson-( wife Yolany) and Byron Henderson. Three sisters: Anna Lee Henderson, Nhyere Henderson-(husband Calvin) and Paula Henderson. She is survived and was loved by many cousins, nephews, nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018, 11:00 AM., in the chapel of Georgia Funeral Care, 4671 S. Main St., Acworth, GA. The family will receive friends for a viewing from 9:30 - 11:00 prior to the service at the funeral home. Denise will be buried at Georgia National Cemetery, in Canton, GA. following the service at 1:30 PM.
