Earl E. McClure of Belle Vernon, formerly West Bolivar, died December 23, 2017 at the age of 79. Born March 20, 1938 in Bolivar the son of the late Clarion and Lillian (Cline) McClure. Also preceded in death by wife Cleo (Baird) McClure; brothers and sisters Kay McClure, Lola McGraw, Gary 'Pete' McClure, Gordon McClure, Jacqualine McGinnis, and William McClure. Earl loved playing cards, sitting outside watching the hummingbirds, and gardening, and he remembered fondly watching all the basketball, football, volleyball, and other activities his children played over the years. Earl graduated Laurel Valley High in 1956, attended Florida State University, served in the US Coast Guard, and was a long-time member of the United Mine Workers. He will be missed by those he left behind, including children Kevin McClure of Quartzite, AZ, Gary McClure (and Sara) of Carbondale CO, Lisa Spekis (and Bob) of Belle Vernon, Wendy Everson of Colorado Springs, CO, Thomas McClure of Belle Vernon, and Darren McClure (and Marinn) of Vienna, VA; brother Marvin McClure; and grandchildren Meghan, Jim, and David Johnson, Hannah and Rachel Everson, Robby Spekis, and Case McClure. Family and friends to be received at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence on Wednesday December 27th from 12:00pm to time of memorial service at 1:00pm.
