Laura Mae Stafford, 69, of Rockford, Illinois, departed this earthly life January 16, 2018 at Rose Wood Care Center, after a long illness. She was born October 31, 1948 in Silver Creek, Mississippi the daughter of Willie and Arlevia Graves.

Laura lived in Rockford since 1968 coming from Silver Creek. She married Laverne Stafford May 8, 1969, he preceded her in death.

She was employed as a supervisor by Briar Glen Health Care Center before becoming ill. Laura was a member of Second Christian Church. She graduated from Monticello High School, in Mississippi.

Laura leaves to cherish many loving memories: sons, Jeffery and Brian Stafford; brothers, Willie (Ann) Graves and Joseph Graves; sisters, Joyce Graves, Florine (Eddie) Sample, Almedia Williams, Alfredia (Clevie) Brent and Geraldine (M.L.) Moore.

She was predeceased by: husband; parents; one brother; two sisters; and a grandson.

Services on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Second Christian Church. Burial in Willwood Burial Park.
