She served as president of the Mankato Mrs. Jaycees. She also enjoyed dancing, playing cards with friends (Evelyn rarely lost), cooking, fishing with Kenneth, and spending time with family. She and Kenneth loved to travel and visited all fifty states, Mexico, and Europe.

In her later years, Evelyn was active in Senior Citizens and Singles and Solos, as well as the activities at Sibley Manor Assisted Living and Oaklawn Health Care Center.

Evelyn is survived by her sons, David (Jane) of Mankato and Randall (Jill) of Golden Valley; grandchildren, Lindsay, Richard, and Joseph, all of the Twin Cities; sister, Lucille Buland of Mankato; nieces and nephews.
